Abstract
The article highlights the life path, scientific and practical activities of the Honored Professor M. S. Bokarius and his son Professor M. M. Bokarius famous domestic scientists in the field of forensic medicine and forensic examination, whose 85th and 50th anniversaries are in 2016. Account is given of their great contribution to the creation of the forensic examination system in Ukraine, where the leading role, of course, belongs to an outstanding scientist and practitioner M. S. Bokarius, since it was he, with his inherent predictability, who saw the urgent need of the investigative and judicial bodies in an independent and objective forensic examination, which would be based on modern achievements of science.Висвітлено життєвий шлях, наукову та практичну діяльність Заслуженого професора М. С. Бокаріуса і його сина професора М. М. Бокаріуса відомих вітчизняних науковців у галузі судової медицини та судової експертизи, 85-та та 50-та роковини яких виповнюються 2016 р. Зазначено їх великий внесок у створення системи судової експертизи України, де провідна роль, безумовно, належить видатному вченому й практику М. С. Бокаріусу, оскільки саме він із притаманною йому передбачуваністю побачив нагальну потребу органів слідства та суду в незалежній і об’єктивній судовій експертизі, яка б спиралась на сучасні досягнення науки
