A partir do campo dos Estudos Sociais da Infância, o objetivo do artigo é discutir as dimensões éticas e metodológicas (ALDERSON, 2007; CLARK, 2017; FERNANDES e MARCHI, 2020) de uma pesquisa com (e sobre) crianças na pré-escola. Metodologicamente, a materialidade investigativa é constituída das discussões éticas emergentes de um estudo a respeito da produção de narrativas orais, em contextos de mediação, por um grupo de crianças de cinco anos de idade. Mediante a análise das reflexões do diário de campo, decorrentes da investigação, foram definidas duas unidades: a) ética, presença e escuta do adulto: o exercício de estar com as crianças; e b) a participação das crianças na pesquisa: os meandros das discussões metodológicas. Com base nas análises, destacaram-se como resultados do estudo que, em uma pesquisa com crianças: a) a ética precede as escolhas metodológicas; b) há imprescindibilidade da escuta, da reflexividade e da alteridade do pesquisador.Abstract:From the field of Social Studies of Childhood, this article aims to discuss the ethical and methodological dimensions (ALDERSON, 2007; CLARK, 2017; FERNANDES e MARCHI, 2020) of a research project with (and on) preschool children. Methodologically, the research evidence consists of the ethical discussions emerging from a study on the production of oral narratives, in mediated contexts, by a group of 5-year-old children. Through the analysis of the reflections present in the researcher’s field diary, resulting from the investigation, two units were defined: a) adult’s ethics, presence and listening: the exercise of being with children; and b) children’s participation in the research: the intricacies of methodological discussions.
