高等学校「地理総合」における地理情報システムを活用した学習内容の検討

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the learning contents in senior high school “geography” that use Geographical Information System (GIS). The status of GIS utilization was examined in the textbook chapter “Survey of Living Areas and Regional Perspective” in the “Geography”. The result show that revealed that GIS is used as a preliminary study in regional studies. Therefore, a unit plan for “Survey of living areas and regional prospective” was developed. The theme of the survey was set as “Current status and issues aff ecting agriculture in Yokohama City” and a preliminary survey method using Web GIS was explored. In limited class time, it is eff ective to use Web GIS to help students understand the transformation of a region form the past to present. Additionally, using RESAS (Regional Economy Society Analyzing System) to create maps and graphs related to the survey theme was found to be effective
