O szkodliwości książek trywialnych

Abstract

The publishing-book market offers many books for children and young people which can be classified as trivial books. They are characterized with a crude, and often vulgar attitude to key issues in the development of young readers. They deal with important problems in a way that deprive of dignity, respect towards life and human body. Instead of sensitizing children, the books introduce them into the world in which the most important thing is to fulfill primary and biological needs. They teach a young reader how to “fight for their own rights” excluding the feelings of another person. What is also controversial in such publications is a graphic layout, namely dancing penises, different “types” of sewage, opened coffins which shock readers, yet correspond with a vulgar text. Books including anti-pedagogical messages are more and more popular and, somehow, create a new trend in the literature for children and young people. That is why interest in trivial books seems very important and interesting at the same time
