This way politicians     can defend their restrictive policies with low numbers, or lobby  for more restrictive policies with high numbers. What do you think      about this statement? Science shop of Medicine and Public HealthNew Immigration PolicySince 2021 there is a new policy focus in the EU on voluntary return migration and reintegration. This is necessary because:  • The global size of migration will only increase in the future due to climate migration. • Migration needs to be a sustainable, humanitarian and cost-effective process.   • Voluntary return and reintegration is a crucial part in breaking the cycle of migration. • Voluntary return and reintegration would yield more benefits for the countries of origin.My research focuses on this subject. I hereby hope to yield valuable insights for policy workers that might improve the process of voluntary migration and reintegration assistance. Method: Interviews with voluntary return migrantsChallenges: • This is a somewhat vulnerable population. Therefore, the ethical considerations that apply to data collection    are extra important (e.g. minimisation of harm, confidentiality).  • Defining the population. There are multiple terms to refer to the population which are                  defined differently by different researchers and organisations. This makes it hard to get a precise view of the    population of (irregular) migrants.  • Finding the population. I plan to use the recruitment strategy of gatekeepers and              snowball recruitment.
