Text is an attempt to look, from the native’s point of view, at country’s picture as shown in film series by Jacek Bromski: In Heaven as It Is on Earth (U Pana Boga za piecem), God’s Little Garden (U Pana Boga w ogródku) and God’s Little Village (U Pana Boga za miedzą). A media image of the world presented there is a starting point for
consideration of mythology of provincial paradise and its cultural determinants: symbolic borders and transgressions of various kinds: between polish identity and familiarity; between townness and countryness; between provincialism and cosmopolitism.
