The situation of nuclear energy and the war in Ukraine

Abstract

Inwazja Rosji na Ukrainę w dniu 24 lutego 2022 r. wiele zmieniła na świecie, w tym postrzeganie energetyki jądrowej w wielu państwach. W artykule omówiono szczegółowo sytuację energetyki jądrowej na Ukrainie po trzech miesiącach od tej daty oraz w krajach budujących (Bangladesz, Chiny i Turcja) lub przygotowujących się do budowy rosyjskich reaktorów (Egipt, Finlandia i Węgry), a także w krajach decydujących o przyszłości energetyki jądrowej u siebie (Belgia i Niemcy) oraz w UE. Na zakończenie przedstawione zostaną działania podjęte w Polsce.Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 changed a lot in the world, including the perception of nuclear energy in many countries. The article discusses in detail the situation of nuclear energy in Ukraine three months after that date and in the countries that are building (Bangladesh, China and Turkey) or preparing to build Russian reactors (Egypt, Finland and Hungary), as well as in countries that decide about the future of nuclear energy at home (Belgium and Germany) and in the EU. Finally, the activities undertaken in Poland will be presented
