The Vocational Association of the Federation “Freedom” - Activity and Sociopolitical Thought

Abstract

Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie działalności oraz myśli społeczno-politycznej Zawodowego Związku Federacyjnego „Wolność” od momentu jego powstania w 1989 roku do zaniknięcia około roku później. Posłużą do tego dokumenty i wydawnictwa sygnowane przez ZZF „W”. Na ich podstawie stworzony zostanie katalog zagadnień podejmowanych przez związek obejmujący m.in. tematykę energetyki jądrowej i spraw pracowniczych. Omówione zostaną inspiracje filozoficzne (m.in. myśl Leszka Nowaka) i ideowe (anarchizm, syndykalizm, program „pierwszej Solidarności”) zawarte w wydawnictwach ZZF. Wskazane zostanie również miejsce Związku na mapie opozycji politycznej schyłkowego PRL (obok Ruchu Społeczeństwa Alternatywnego, Ruchu Wolność i Pokój a także Federacji Młodzieży Walczącej).The aim of the article is to present the activities and sociopolitical ideas of the Vocational Association called “Freedom” from its creation in 1989 to its disappearance about a year later. For this purpose, documents and publications signed by ZZF “W” are used. On the basis of these documents, a catalogue of matters raised by the Association is created, covering, for instance, nuclear energy and employees’ issues. Inspirations stemming from philosophy (Leszek Nowak’s ideas) and ideology (anarchism, syndicalism, “first Solidarity” program) and present in the ZZF publications are discussed. The place of the Association on the map of late communist political opposition in the People’s Republic of Poland (including the Alternative Society Movement, the Freedom and Peace Movement and the Federation of Fighting Youth) is indicated
