Abstract

From a surgical point of view, artificial intelligence (AI) does seem to be the holy grail of future medicine. Today data driven medicine influence also handwork - done with knifes, scissors, needles and sutures. Should a surgeon learn something about AI and data science? Big data, machine learning, NLP, video analysis and robotics will be a big part of modern surgery. Today’s operating robots like the Davinci already works with video analysis and machine learning.
