The asessment of engineering geological soil investigations for road design and construction in the years 2007-2016

Abstract

In the article the characteristics of soil investigation methods within the years 2007-2016 were presented, taking engineering geological reports into consideration. The set of 485 engineering geological reports, that were prepared for road design and construction purposes, was analyzed. The authors looked into both types of investigation methods and the way of presenting the results. The percentage of particular field and laboratory test methods was shown as well as some conclusions and observations regarding the soil recognition were articulated. The study is a part of a larger project "Modern methods of identifying the soilfor road construction” co-financed by the National Research and Development Centre (NCBiR) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA)
