Sustainable development of rural areas in environmental aspect

Abstract

Bogactwo przyrodnicze i krajobrazowe Polski jest bardzo wysoko oceniane w skali Europy. Pogodzenie rozwoju rolnictwa i obszarów wiejskich z ochroną środowiska i krajobrazu jest jednak zadaniem bardzo trudnym do zrealizowania. Strategia rozwoju zrównoważonego ma na celu zapewnienie równowagi ekologicznej, ekonomicznej i społecznej. Zapobieganie degradacji krajobrazu i utrzymywanie jego poprawnego funkcjonowania, z jednoczesnym wykorzystaniem funkcji produkcyjnej wymaga działań wielokierunkowych, z których najważniejsze to odpowiednie ukształtowanie struktury przestrzennej krajobrazu oraz stosowanie odpowiedniego zestawu praktyk rolniczych.Biological and landscape diversity in Poland is highly estimated in Europe. Reconciling agricultural and rural development with environmental and landscape protection is, however, not easy. The strategy of sustainable development is aimed at the assurance of ecological, economic and social equilibrium. According to this principle, agriculture should prevent from the degradation of natural resources while maintaining all its functions. One of the instruments connecting the ecological and productive functions of agriculture is an appropriate formation of agricultural landscape and application of good farming practices. It is especially important in protected areas
