Value relationships of the braking distance and stopping distance length for car motion various conditions

Abstract

Praca przedstawia ocenę długości drogi hamowania i drogi zatrzymania samochodu (zwanej także całkowitą długością drogi hamowania) dla przypadku ruchu prostoliniowego. Autorzy analizują różnicę bezwzględną i względną obu ocenianych wartości, dla różnych warunków ruchu, opisanych prędkością początkową i opóźnieniem hamowania. Stosują także funkcje wrażliwości bezwzględnej i względnej, co pozwala im na analizę zmienności obu funkcji oraz na wskazanie wartości największych i najmniejszych funkcji opisujących wpływ parametrów procesu hamowania na różnicę drogi zatrzymania i hamowania samochodu.The paper presents evaluation of the car braking and stopping distance (also called the total braking distance length) for rectilinear motion case. The authors analyze the absolute and relative difference of both assessed values for various motion conditions, described by the initial velocity and braking deceleration. They also apply the absolute and relative sensitivity functions what allows them to analyze the variability of both functions and identify the values of the largest and the smallest functions, describing the influence of the braking process parameters on the difference between the car stopping and braking distance
