Despite increasing safety of regional anaesthesia, the growth in the popularity therof implies that local anaesthetic toxicity will occur occasionally. Local anaesthetic cardiotoxicity, even when using “safer” modern local anaesthetics, is notoriously resistant to standard resuscitation.
