YÖK Tez ID: 628576Bu araştırmanın amacı, eğitim ve mekân arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek, incelemek ve eğitim mekânlarının nasıl olması gerektiği konusunda çıkarımlar yapmaktır. Bununla birlikte eğitimin tanımı ve kapsamı, eğitim yapıları ve tarihsel gelişimleri, eğitim yapılarının mimari tasarım faktörleri ve fiziksel özellikleri, mekânın tanımı, eğitimde mekânın dikkate alınmasının gerekliliği ve okulların mekânsal anlamda nasıl olmaları gerektiği konusundaki görüşlerin incelenmesi de amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda eğitim ve mekân kavramları ve bu kavramlarla ilgili olduğu varsayılan motivasyon, iletişim, zaman, kültür, kimlik ve insan kavramları üzerinde durulmuştur. Eğitim, mimari, psikoloji, felsefe ve sanat tarihi alanındaki çalışmalar araştırılmış ve incelenmiştir. Bu araştırma doküman analizi yöntemiyle şekillenen nitel bir araştırmadır. Veriler, Eğitim ve Mekân konuları ile ilgili ulaşılabilen yerli ve yabancı kitaplar, makaleler, yüksek lisans ve doktora tezleri, diğer akademik yayınlar taranarak toplanmıştır. Ulaşılamayan kaynaklar kapsam dışı bırakılmıştır. Verilerin analizi ise içerik analizi yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Eğitim ve mekân kavramlarıyla ilgili elde edilen bilgiler sonucunda eğitim mekânlarının tek düze, estetik özelliklerden yoksun ve toplum kültürüne, tarihine ve dini özelliklerine ışık tutmayan şekilde düzenlendiği belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda mekânların insan psikolojisini etkilediği, fakat eğitim mekânları tasarlanırken insan psikolojisinin ve kullanıcı ihtiyaçlarının göz ardı edildiği de bulunmuştur.The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between education and space, to examine and make inferences about how education spaces should be. In addition, it was aimed to examine the views on the definition and scope of education, educational structures and historical developments, architectural design factors and physical properties of educational structures, the definition of space, the necessity of space in education, and how schools should be spatially. In line with these purposes, the concepts of education and space and the concepts of motivation, communication, time, culture, identity and people that are assumed to be related to these concepts are emphasized. Studies in the fields of education, architecture, psychology, philosophy and art history have been researched and examined. This research is a qualitative research shaped by the document analysis method. The data were collected by scanning local and foreign books, articles, master's and doctoral theses, other academic publications that can be accessed on the subjects of Education and Space. Inaccessible resources are excluded. The analysis of the data was done by content analysis method. As a result of the information obtained about the concepts of education and space, it has been determined that education spaces are organized in a uniform manner, devoid of aesthetic features and not shedding light on social culture, history and religious features. It was also found that spaces affect human psychology, but human psychology and user needs are neglected when designing training spaces
