Abstract
Hür olma, rasyonel tercihler ve iradi eylemler içermesi nedeniyle insana özgü bir durumdur. Rasyonel bir varlık olarak insan, eylemlerinden sorumlu olmalıdır. Sorumlu olmak da, hür eylemde bulunmayı içermelidir. Hürriyet problemi, düşünürler tarafından farklı tanımlamalar ve temellendirmeler içerisinde tartışılmıştır. Düşünürlerin sistemleri çerçevesinde kimi zaman keyfi davranışlara kimi zaman da belirlenmiş, sınırlanmış, neden-sonuç ilişkisine indirgenmiş hürriyet tanımlamaları ile karşılaşırız. Türk düşüncesinin önemli filozoflarından biri olan Nurettin Topçu (1909-1975) da eserlerinde hürriyet problemine değinen düşünürlerimizden biridir. Onun felsefesinde hürriyet, seçim ve eylem sürecini içerisinde barındırdığından ahlâk ile iç içedir. Bu çalışma Topçu’nun ahlak, hürriyet ve sorumluluk bağlamında düşüncelerine odaklanarak ahlâk-hürriyet ilişkisi üzerine bir değerlendirmeyi içermektedir.Being free is a human-specific situation because it includes rational choices and voluntary actions. As
a rational being, a man should be responsible for his actions. Being responsible should also include making free
action. The problem of liberty has been discussed by thinkers in different definitions and grounds. Within the
framework of the systems of thinkers, we come across definitions of liberty that are sometimes determined, limited
to arbitrary behavior, and sometimes reduced to the cause-effect relationship. Nurettin Topçu (1909-1975), one of
the influential philosophers of Turkish thought, is one of our thinkers who touches on the problem of liberty in his
works. In his philosophy, liberty is intertwined with morality since it includes the process of choice and action.
This article includes an evaluation of the relationship between morality and liberty by focusing on Topçu's thoughts
in the context of morality, liberty, and responsibility
