Abstract
The work analyzes the contribution of industrial enterprises and sectors for the generation
of added value, industrial income, sum of investment and jobs from a study of case carried
through in the city of Ijuí, RS, as form to subsidize the reflections on the process of local
development. The analysis includes the sectors of confections, locksmith shop, furniture,
graph and mill of the city. The definition of the types of enterprises and the information for
the economic calculation had resulted of interviews with local entrepreneurs. The results
demonstrate that, on the basis of the indicators of aggregate value and industrial income
and its relation with the sum of investment and generation of job, the sector of confections
is what it provokes more impact for the local development, followed for the furniture sector.
The types of capitalist enterprises of the mill and graphical industries, even so presenting
raised capacity of generation of added value, they are not enclosed between that more they
contribute for the local development in such a way in function of the sum of investment that
they demand, how much for the small impact in the generation of jobs
