Summary: Information concerning dietary intake, cigarette and alcohol consumption and health was obtained from new male service recruits in order to test the relationships between diet, lifestyle, blood pressure and cholesterol . Data were collected on frequency of consumption of various foods, usual intake of alcohol including setting and type, smoking habits and dietary knowledge . The data file provided by the depositor contains smoking and alcohol consumption details and a measure of systol ic and diastol ic blood pressure. A period of three hours was set aside during the initial training week for this purpose.
