Abstract
This article tries to explore the possibility for situational crime prevention to contribute more in terms of understanding crimes due to its deep understanding toward physical environment, including social and organisational factors which enable crimes to occur. As approach, this situational perspective would never ignore offenders; this just tries to see them in perspective as this would give us clearer understanding regarding what kind of crime prevention should be exercised. This demands a big swift in terms of crime prevention strategy ; that is from understanding why people commit crime to understand why crime would likely happen in certain social settings. The writer of this article then persuades us due to the very promising result this approach has already given. However, the writer also suggests that some more researches have to be undertaken before reaching assumption leading to the initiation of new crime prevention strategy
