cirurgiões-dentistas e graduandos em Odontologia frente a notificação compulsória em
casos de violência contra a mulher; comentar sobre a legislação a respeito; sobre
como deve ser feita a notificação e definir a necessidade da ênfase neste assunto
nos cursos de Odontologia. A pesquisa foi do tipo observacional, transversal,
quantitativa e teve como principal aliado a criação de um questionário no Google
Forms® e sua posterior distribuição pelas mídias sociais. Os questionamentos
contidos foram direcionados para o objetivo do presente estudo. Foram consideradas
válidas 223 (duzentas e vinte e três) respostas, todas de estudantes de Odontologia e
cirurgiões-dentistas, ambos maiores de 18 (dezoito) anos e de faculdades brasileiras.
Dentre os resultados, observou-se que apenas 35% dos participantes conheciam a
notificação compulsória. 67,7% relataram que se sentiam confortáveis para fazê-la,
mas apenas 5,4% já a fizeram. Além disso, 99,1% dos entrevistados afirmaram achar
necessário que este assunto seja mais amplamente discutidos nos currículos de
graduação. Os resultados foram analisados descritivamente e algumas hipóteses
foram analisadas estatisticamente através do teste estatístico qui-quadrado. O estudo
concluiu que a maioria dos participantes parece não conhecer sobre a notificação
compulsória. E também, que é de suma importância enfatizar nos currículos de
graduação a relevância da notificação compulsória em casos de violência contra a
mulher. E por fim, capacitar corretamente os futuros cirurgiões dentistas para
diagnosticar suspeitas de violência da maneira correta, conhecer a legislação acerca
do tema, a obrigatoriedade da notificação e assim, contribuírem em larga escala para
a redução de casos de violência contra a mulher.The aim of this study was to raise the panorama of knowledge and attitudes of dentists
and dentistry students in face of compulsory notification in cases of violence against
women; comment on the relevant legislation; how notification should be made and
define the need for emphasis on this subject in dentistry courses. The research was
observational, transversal, quantitative and had as main ally the creation of a
questionnaire in Google Forms® and its subsequent distribution through social media.
The questions contained were directed to the objective of the present study. 223 (two
hundred and twenty-three) responses were considered valid, all from dentistry students
and dental surgeons, both over 18 (eighteen) years old and from Brazilian colleges.
Among the results, it was observed that only 35% of the participants knew about
compulsory notification. 67.7% reported that they felt comfortable doing it, but only 5.4%
have already done it. In addition, 99.1% of respondents said they thought it necessary
for this subject to be more widely discussed in undergraduate curricula. The results
were analyzed descriptively and some hypotheses were analyzed statistically using the
chi-square statistical test. The study concluded that most participants do not seem to
know about compulsory reporting. Also, it is of paramount importance to emphasize in
the undergraduate curricula the relevance of compulsory notification in cases of
violence against women. And finally, to properly train future dental surgeons to
diagnose suspected violence in the right way, to know the legislation on the subject, the
obligation to notify and thus contribute on a large scale to the reduction of cases of
violence against women
