Dried fish and lishmeal accounts for over 55% of the fish production. The freshwater aquaculture holds good prospects in the state. Processing practices, i mportant fish and fishery products, and major quality problems in the state. are discussed in this paper. Need for prawn culture, maketing of freshwater fishes, l ive fishes and shellfishes are highlighted.
