Folk medicine is a hard to classify and identify field, part of which can be reached from written text. In practises of both natural folk medicine and magicoreligious folk medicine, stones and ores are used to prevent and treat diseases. In natural folk medicine, stones and ores are used by swallowing, drinking its juice,
rubbing to the skin, tinging with kohl whereas in magico-religious practices of folk medicine, unlike the natural folk medicine, practices based on believed powers and energies are applied in which these practices are mainly applied by wearing as a
necklace or ring, carrying or hanging on the wall. In this study, examples based on natural folk medicine and magico-religious practices of worthless, semi-precious, precious stones mentioned in copyright, translation or compilation Turkish medical manuscripts written through XV.-XVII. centuries are given
