. API RP2A –LRFD standard was developed based on Gulf of Mexico environment. Therefore, application of the standard in Indonesia will result in an over designed structure since the environment in Indonesia is less severe compare to the environment in Gulf of Mexico. In this paper, a model of a brace monopod platform is used to study the reliability index of the structure and to determine the environmental load factors based on environmental condition at South East Sumatera Area. The structure was designed based on API RP2A – WSD standard. The result shows that the reliability index of the structure is exceeding the minimum requirement and, by using the same reliability index, the environmental loading factors shall be less then those determined in API RP2A – LRFD
