Individual burden of atopic dermatitis

Abstract

The study presents the results of the psychosocial influence of atopic dermatitis as an essential component of the global burden disease. With the help of the disease-specific questionnaire «Dermatology specific quality of life» (DSQL) there had been found out that atopic dermatitis had a strong negative effect on the physical status, social functioning and mental well-being of the patient»s daily activity, self-perception, causing maladjustment of the respondents, especially in a period of acute symptoms. In addition to addressing the medical aspects of blood pressure an important role in reducing the burden of disease play an individual educational programs and psychological support for patients while creating partnerships «doctor-patient» relationship
