Abstract

Job stress is a condition of tension experienced by employees in the face of the work that can affect emotions, and conditions of a person's thought processes. Stress that is too large can threaten a person's ability to deal with the environment. As a result, the employees themselves developing various kinds of stress symptoms that may interfere with the implementation of the work. Pursuant to these conditions, this study aims to determine the extent of work stress generated by employees and how much influence the stress on the performance of employees of PT. Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur, Semarang. This study uses stuctural Equation Modeling (SEM) using LISREL program aid, while the model of research refers to research model Khuo-Shun Sun & Hawjeng Chiou (2011). The samples used were 150 respondents. The results showed that the variable data processing coping strategies have a positive and significant effect on the variable Employee Performance (loading = 0.93; t-value = 4.49). Second, Job Stress Causes variable has a negative and significant effect on the variable Employee Performance (loading = -0.22; t-value = -2.19). Then the last one variable causes Work Stress has a positive influence, but not significant to Coping Strategies (loading = 0.13; t-value = 1.11)
