Abstract

This research aims to describe the instructional strategies teachers to read directly using a storybook, learning strategies teacher telling stories using illustrations, instructional strategies teachers in telling stories without books and pictures, learning strategies teacher told me to use the media puppets and constraints faced in developing capabilities storytelling in children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal II District Pontianak West. This study used a descriptive and qualitative approach. Data obtained in the form of teacher learning strategies in storytelling and drawing. The result showed that the instructional strategies teachers use PERMEN 58 of 2009 as a reference adapted to the curriculum that have been made kindergarten. Learning strategies carried begins with conversation and debriefing. The media used to use permaian educative tool (APE) in kindergarten. Constraints faced by internally child does not focus on an activity that is carried out.Advice given is the more teachers are expected to have mastered the ability to tell a child, a teacher in storytelling strategies need to be developed further and story time not too long ± 5-8 minutes is sufficient
