Kesehatan Masyarakat Sekitar Lokasi Tambang di Nusa Tenggara Barat

Abstract

Study of public health in mining area was conducted in order to measure nutrition status, exposure biomarker of mercury and arsenic, and secondary data of health status of people from Puskesmas, who lived in that area. Laboratory analysis have done for 161 speciments of hair and urine to detect mercwy and arsenic as exposure biomarker. The people who have given the speciments were interviewed. The results were: 31,3% people in Benette (mining area) and 20% people in Tua Nanga (control) have low weigh status, respectively. Average mercury consentrations in hair were normal in the both of areas (< 2 ppm). Average arcenic consentrations in urine have been in high level for both of areas (>100 µg/l), and for the people in control area higher than in mining area, respectively. It were not enough data to correlate between health impact and exposure yet
