Abstract

This research implements a quantitative content analysis using descriptive approach and focus on the content of rape report in Detik.com online media. Sexual violence cases, especially rape case always be interesting news in media. In that context, the readers are presented bad news with the way of writing tending to vulgar and alienating the rape victims. The news tendency becomes the reason of research focus. In this research, researcher focuses on rape report content that appears in accordance with the principle of Holsti content analysis. Formulation of problem in this research is a question what is the tendency of rape report content published in Detik.com online media? And the objective of this research is to know the tendency of rape report content published in Detik.com online media. The instrument to analyze data is using Holsti content analysis techniques with referential analysis unit. The research result obtained by the inter-coder shows the tendency of rape report content as follows: news writing using chronological theme is 51.5%; type of rape action reported as the rape action of sexual intercourse is 80%; the male as suspect is 93.3%; the female as rape victim is 93.2%; the rape committed by foreigners is 46.7%; the rape agent less than 5 people is 53.3%; the rape victims less than 5 people is 93.3%
