Abstract

Report presenting an investigation of the air flow at the tail of a monoplane model in the 7- by 10-foot wind tunnel to determine the cause of the change in vertical-tail effectiveness with a change in the vertical position of the wing and with flap deflection. Results regarding precision, force-test data, dynamic pressure in the region of the tail, sidewash angle at the tail, and effect of component parts on sidewash angles at the tail are provided
