Globalization has made the world more and more inter-connected and complex. As
a result, no Ego—be it individual or group—can escape from the relation with Alter.
This should be recognized as a matter of fact that no wall is able to cancel. However,
the results of the meta-analysis presented above highlight that there is also another
side to the story, namely that the recognition of the fact that otherness is part and
parcel of the reality of the globalized world is not enough to enable identities to enter
the relationship with what-is-other-from-them
