Receptores criogénicos para radioastronomía

Abstract

Among the parameters that specify a radio astronomy receiver, two of them take particular importance: Effective Noise Temperature and Gain Stability. The Effective Noise Temperature (ENT) is determined by the receiver's input stages noise contribution: feeder and low noise amplifiers. It also determines the receiver's sensitivity. Gain Stability, unlike the ENT, is affected by the inherent stability of the whole receiver's stages. The present paper makes a review on the fundamentals involved in a receiver with cryogenically cooled stages.Asociación Argentina de Astronomí
