This is the first issue of the journal Filologia Germanica – Germanic Philology, the first Italian journal entirely devoted to topics of Germanic philology and closely related subjects. Although primarily intended for an Italian readership, the journal is programmatically open to contributions by international scholars, as the title makes clear, and is conceived as a series of monothematic issues concerning key questions of the specific theme under discussion (here, Language and culture of the Goths). Essays are evaluated and selected by an editorial board
