x, 201 sayfa29 cm. 1 CDÖZETEvsizlik sosyal bilimlerde kentsel yoksulluk veya yoksulluk literatüründe görmezden gelinen ve arka planda tutulan, hakkında araştırmalara nadir rastlanan bir konudur. Büyük bir kent olduğu düşünüldüğünde İzmir ili arka planda da olsa evsizlik problemlerinin yaşandığı bir şehirdir. Dolayısıyla bu çalışma İzmir'de yaşayan evsiz bireylerin yaşam hikâyelerine odaklanarak, evsizliğin gelişimsel sürecini ve çok boyutlu nedenselliklerini ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışma İzmir'in Örnekköy semtinde bulunan, İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi'ne bağlı Müyesser Turfan Geçici Konuk Evi'nde zorlu kış aylarında korunmak amacıyla konaklayan evsiz bireylerle yüz yüze derinlemesine görüşme yapılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir Çalışma öncelikle evsizliğin, çoklu nedensellik ilkesini benimseyen yapısal-inşacı perspektife göre açıklanmasının temellerini, sosyal teoriler çerçevesinde tartışmaktadır.ABSTRACTBeing ignored and neglected in the literature of urban poverty or poverty in social sciences, homelessness is a poorly scrutinized subject rarely studied so far. As a metropolis, the city of İzmir is not exempt from the problem of homelessness, however concealed it may appear. Thus, taking the stories of the homeless in İzmir into account, this study aims to disclose the developmental process and multidimensional causality of homelessness. The study was carried out via in-depth face-to-face interviews with the homeless accommodated temporarily in the guest house of Müyesser Turfan, a facility of İzmir Municipality, at times of harsh winter conditions. Primarily, remaining within the boundaries of social theories, the study discusses the fundamentals of homelessness in accordance with structural constructivism, which employs the principle of multicausality
