Those experiencing harassment at work can use support networks (i.e. family, friends, co-workers) to aid in their coping with the negative impacts that harassment at work has. My research is exploring the role that support plays within survivor-victim’s lives to determine whether there is a need for more support to be put in place for workers. Harassment and violence at work can range from a variety of experiences, however, in every form, it has long-lasting mental health, physical health, and interpersonal effects on the individual. Workplaces do not have adequate support put in place to aid with these experiences, thus individuals must find other ways to cope with their experiences in the form of outside support from family and friends. My research will aid in the advocacy of the need for these supports.
