Abstract
This paper addresses the legacy of the First World War as a factor which determines foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia towards the Republic of Bulgaria. Findings of our analysis are showing that there are various material and non-material aspect of the First World War legacy, which are influencing Serbia’s foreign policy towards Bulgaria. As mate-rial determinants this paper extracts: a) Inter-state boundary; b) Bulgarian national minority. Non-material determinants addressed in this paper are: a) Serbian “stab in the back” perception; b) Bulgarian “Second national catastrophe” perception; c) Legacy of Bulgarian war crimes in the south and east of Serbia. This paper as well compares and categorizes the influence of the mentioned aspects on contemporary Serbian foreign policy towards Bulgaria
