The new 2018 guidelines for the management of arterial hypertension proposed by the European societies of cardiology and hypertension propose a completely new therapeutic strategy based on clearly defined threshold for treatment and targets. Therapy will be based on initial blood pressure levels, patient age and comorbidities. Initial therapy should now be based on dual combination therapy in a single pill. When three antihypertensives will have to be used their combination should be a blocker of the renin angiotensin system, a calcium antagonist and a thiazide diuretic.SCOPUS: ar.jDecretOANoAutActifinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
