The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is a probe into the character of the fiercely independent and unorthodox Jean Brodie, teacher at Marcia Blaine School for Girls in Edinburgh of the 1930\u27s. She offers her set individuality, self-confidence and grace in a world that is essentially awkward. But Miss Brodie\u27s social ideal of the creme de la creme, her religious sense of the elect, and her attempt to run the lives of her students breed antagonism. Thus she ultimately becomes a victim of her vaunted prime .
