Disruptive changes in organizations and societies that emerged from technology, economy and environmental areas, challenge the flexibility of companies and institutions. In this context, the demand for professionals and researchers has increased, especially in areas such as STEM. The lack of researchers and professionals in STEM is a problem, especially in contexts such as Latin America. In this sense, the inclusion of women in STEM has been classified as a key challenge, and consequently, it has become a topic that has been receiving increasing attention from academics and policy-makers. There are several ongoing projects (e.g. ELLAS Project, financed by the International Development Research Center – Canada) that have been working on different initiatives to close existing gender gaps in STEM. In this panel, we will discuss the main existing barriers in Latin America to the inclusion of women in STEM. In addition, we will address initiatives and good practices that have contributed to mitigate some of these barriers. Then, we will discuss the applicability of these successful practices, in contexts such as the Peruvian.Los cambios disruptivos en organizaciones y sociedades originados en áreas como la tecnología, economía y medio ambiente desafían la flexibilidad de empresas e instituciones. En este contexto, se ha incrementado la demanda por profesionales e investigadores especialmente en áreas como STEM. La falta de investigadores y profesionales en STEM es un problema, especialmente en contextos como el latinoamericano. En ese sentido, la inclusión de mujeres en STEM, ha sido catalogado como un desafío clave, y consecuentemente, se ha convertido en un tópico que viene recibiendo creciente atención por parte de académicos y líderes políticos. Existen diversos proyectos en curso (Ejm. Proyecto ELLAS, financiado por el International Development Research Centre – Canadá) que vienen trabajando en distintas iniciativas para cerrar las brechas de género existentes en STEM. En el presente panel, discutiremos las principales barreras existentes en Latinoamérica para la inclusión de mujeres en STEM. Además, abordaremos iniciativas y buenas prácticas que han servido para mitigar algunas de esas barreras; para finalmente analizar la aplicabilidad de estas medidas exitosas, en contextos como el peruano
