Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process and student learning outcomes in a text message through audio-visual media in class VIII B of SMP St. Francis of Assisi Pontianak. The method used is descriptive qualitative research design Class Action. The subjects were 31 students in class VIII B. The results of the analysis of the test data indicates that the completeness of student learning outcomes reached 75.5 in both categories. This research was conducted by 2 cycles and always increase. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded He use of audio- visual media in the process of learning to write news text can engage students actively in expressing thoughts into written form and assist students in obtaining a clear picture of the events of the story to be writte
