The Symposium was organized by University Department of Dermatology and Ve-nereology, Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital and Croatian Society of Dermatovenereology of the Croa-tian Medical Association, under the auspices of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.The Symposium consisted of 21 interdisciplinary selected lectures with a program covering all relevant aspects of the major and most common problems encountered in pediatric dermatology, and gathered many professionals involved in the management of children with dermatologic diseases including pediat-ric dermatologists, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, gynecologists, infectologists and psychologists.The Symposium offered new scientific and practi-cal data in different fields of pediatric dermatovenere-ology and was an excellent opportunity for discussion and exchange of experience with colleagues from dif-ferent fields of pediatric dermatology. A special lec-ture was dedicated to the psychological approach to children with skin diseases and the importance of un-derstanding the problem of visibility of skin changes and its possible role in developing emotional problems and difficulties in social interactions.At this Symposium, emphasis was put on the collaborative team approach of dermatologists, pe-diatricians, pediatric surgeons, gynecologists and psy-chologists in recognizing and treating children with different dermatologic problems as primary derma-tologic diseases or as part of other primary pediatric problems with different dermatologic manifestations.The Symposium was an excellent platform for phy-sicians of different specialist fields to exchange ideas and help in supporting and improving the care of chil-dren with skin diseases.Prof. Mirna Šitum, MD, PhDPresident of the Organizing CommitteeLena Kotrulja, MD, MSVice-President of the Organizing CommitteeSlobodna Murat-Sušić, MD, MSVice-President of the Organizing Committee
