Unique Medieval Armament Items from Orenburg Oblast

Abstract

The paper features armament items of the nomads of the Middle Ages with different origin histories. The uniqueness of these samples lies in the absence of direct analogies in medieval nomadic monuments. The discovered melee and ranged weapons, and defensive armament are introduced into scientific discourse. In terms of chronology, the weapons belong to three periods: the early Middle Ages of the 7th–8th centuries, the pre-Mongol period of the 11th–12th centuries, and the Golden Horde period of the 13th–14th centuries
