On April6, we saw the UD community rally together for studentsuccess; even the rain couldn’t dampen the mood! Wewore our Club Roesch T-shirts to the campus lunchtimeparty, where people could dine from food trucks, play yardgames and challenge the librarians at ax throwing(in atable axes with Velcro, of course). This also gave us achance to promote our giving day goals: enhance studentlearning through exhibits and programs; digitize importantcollections; and update furniture in library study spaces.THE RESULTS ARE INOur three projects are funded thanks to 104 donors andthe growing in uence of One Day, One Dayton. And, we’vealready taken action, such as:Funds will also support the planning of creative programsand events that will invite students to engage withuniquely UD collections. One, for example, focuses on theBlessed Virgin Mary’s connection to miracles and medicalcures. Another explores interpretations of the Catholic folktale The Juggler, which is about  nding one’s calling in life.The Libraries Dean’s Fund for Excellence will supportstudent learning as they experience what it is like todesign, write and create interactive exhibits, both in the1 Sending fragile issues of Flyer News publishedbetween 1955 and 1970 to a specialist who willdigitize the pages into a screen-readable format tomake them viewable online. This ensures studentsand researchers can learn more about Universityhistory through the lens of the Flyer News studentjournalists.2 Purchasing another popular study pod with anadjustable desk, chair and lamp for the second oor of Roesch Library; when it arrives, we'lldesignate it as a One Day, One Dayton gift.P R E V I O U SP O S TCongratulations,LibraryGraduatesThe facultyand sta  inthe UniversityLibrarieshonor, thankandcongratulatethe studentemployeeswho graduatethis semester.Read MoreWatch thisvideo to seemore highlightsfrom One Day,One Dayton onApril 6.library galleries and online.
