Palaeogeography of the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, Province of Cadiz, Spain, at the Early Quaternary

Abstract

Trabajo presentado en la I Reunión del Cuaternario Ibérico = Reuniâo do Quaternário Ibérico, celebrada en Lisboa (Portugal), en 1985A palaeogeography of the lower reaches of the River Guadalquivir in Early Quaternary times has been deduced from detailed geomorphological studies along the coast of the Gulf of Cadix, analysis of sedimentary facies in La Florida Quarry, and palaeoecological studies of faunas in both realms. The interplay between coastal and fluviomarine environments is clearly recorded in the sediments of the quarry.Peer reviewe
