Abstract
This work aims to analyze high school Physics textbooks, used in state schools of Minas
Gerais, with the objective of quantifying the imagery representations of female figures of
scientists in relation to male figures. The criteria for selecting the books were: to be a
textbook and to be used in the Physics discipline of the public school system in Minas Gerais.
Thus, 20 Physics textbooks were selected. During the research, it was found that there is a
significant contribution of these books to the invisibility of the female figure in science. In
the collection consulted in this work, 20 textbooks, only 35% of these books contain the
figure of a female scientist. In addition, only 3 scientists appeared, Lisa Randall, Annie Jump
Cannon, and Marie Curie, the last one with a total of seven appearances, the scientist who
appeared most in the consulted books.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)Este trabalho visa analisar os livros didáticos de Física do ensino médio, usados em escolas
estaduais de Minas Gerais, com o objetivo de quantificar as representações imagéticas das
figuras femininas de cientistas em relação às masculinas. Os critérios para seleção dos livros
foram: ser um livro didático e ser utilizado na disciplina de Física da rede pública de ensino
de Minas Gerais. Assim, foram selecionados 20 livros didáticos de Física. No decorrer da
pesquisa foi constatado que há uma contribuição significativa destes livros para a
invisibilidade da figura feminina na ciência, pois no acervo consultado neste trabalho, no
caso 20 livros didáticos, apenas em 35% destes livros constam a figura de alguma cientista.
Além disso, apenas 3 cientistas apareceram, Lisa Randall, Annie Jump Cannon e Marie
Curie, sendo a Marie Curie, com um total de sete aparições, a cientista que mais apareceu nos
livros consultados
