EFFECTS OF LIGHT AND TEMPERATURE ON Tabebuia serratifolia (Vahl) Nich, Tabebuia chrysotricha (Mart. ex DC.) Standl. AND Tabebuia roseo-alba (Ridl) Sand \u2013 Bignoniaceae SEED GERMINATION

Abstract

As esp\ue9cies de ip\uea ( Tabebuia serratifolia , Tabebuia chrysotricha e Tabebuia roseo-alba ) s\ue3o \ue1rvores de interesse econ\uf4mico madeireiro, ornamental e indicadas em programas de reflorestamentos. Neste trabalho, foram testadas as temperaturas constantes de 10\ub0C a 40\ub0C, em condi\ue7\uf5es de luz e escuro dentro de germinadores. Os resultados indicaram que as sementes das tr\ueas esp\ue9cies de Tabebuia s\ue3o indiferentes \ue0 luz, com a faixa de temperatura \uf3tima entre 20\ub0 e 30\ub0C, a temperatura m\ue1xima entre 35\ub0 e 40\ub0C e a temperatura m\uednima entre 10\ub0e 15\ub0C para Tabebuia chrysotricha e Tabebuia roseo-alba e abaixo de 10\ub0C para Tabebuia serratifolia.Tabebuia serratifolia, Tabebuia chrysotricha and Tabebuia roseo-alba (Bignoniaceae), are an important ornamental and wood trees in Brasil. The effects of light and temperature in the germination of Tabebuia serratifolia, Tabebuia chrysotricha and Tabebuia roseo-alba seeds were studied in the present work. The results indicated that the species present light insensitive seeds the and optimum temperature was between 20\ub0 and 30\ub0C, the maximum temperature between 35\ub0 and 40\ub0C and minimal temperature between 10\ub0 and 15\ub0C for Tabebuia chrysotricha and Tabebuia roseo-alba and below 10\ub0C for Tabebuia serratifolia
