Abstract
[ES] Partiendo de la concepción de la historiografía como producto retórico, este artículo aborda el
estudio de las arengas militares en contexto islámico como muestra de dicha actividad historiográfica. El caso de
la arenga atribuida a Tariq b. Ziyad, conquistador musulmán de al-Andalus, servirá de ejemplo para ello. Su
estudio textual y de contenido permitirá observar por un lado, la transmisión del texto a lo largo de los siglos en
distintas versiones del mismo, y por otro, los topoi comunes a las arengas surgidas en otros contextos
espaciotemporales y las peculiaridades del caso islámico.[EN] Assuming that historiography is a rhetorical product, this paper deals with the study of battle
exhortations in Islamic contexts as an example of such assumption. The speech attributed to Tariq b. Ziyad, the
Muslim conqueror of al-Andalus, is the case studied. The study of its textual problems and of its contents will
allow us to analyze, on the one hand, the transmission of the text in different versions through the centuries, and,
on the other, the topoi that the speech shares with battle exhortations from other temporal and spatial contexts, as
well as the peculiarities of the Islamic case.Peer reviewe
