Problem of salt

Abstract

Letter from M. Mornington of Goomalling sharing views on Brad Collis' article on salt, published Western Farmer April 20. The author says that it seems incredible that we can have seminars, discussions and figures forwarded on losses and so little being done in comparison with the problem, noting the farming community is more worried about the livestock industry than it is about the $10 million loss which affects all industries. The differing claims between Harry Whittington and the Agriculture Department with further claims from the university's Institute of Agriculture, clouds the real issue. Every possible effort should be put towards finding a viable and speedy method of overcoming what is already the largest problem to agriculture in Western Australia.
