Analysis of the opportunities and the scope of implementing the replacement planting in place of removed trees in the context of revised nature conservation act

Abstract

One of the most important needs of citizens is the need of the contact with nature, especially with trees. Research show that the number of removed trees is increasing rapidly in cities and the rate of replacement plantings is still low. The amendment of the Nature Conservation Act gives the chance for creating the replacement planting management system in the urban areas. In the paper the possibilities of developing rules and regulations of replacement planting procedures were analysed so as the tools for the application in the public administration and construction process, like the legal acts, ordinances, regulations, standards or best management practices. Upcoming amendment in the Nature Conservation Act is the chance to create a perfectly working system for replacement plantings in urban areas
