Distinguished Employee The Libraries Deanship held the Second Quarter 2022 Distinguished Employee Honoring Ceremony, during which Dr. Hamad Bin Seray, the Director of the Library, honored the distinguished employee Mouza Mohammed Al Kalbani from the Customer Service Section, on Wednesday, JULY 6, 2022, in the presence of the library staff. Who is Mouza? My name is Mouza Al Kalbani. Master's degree in Private Law from UAE University, I joined UAE University Main Library in March 2020 as a Library Specialist - Law Research & liaison. I work with the public services and information services departments to fulfill reference duties across all disciplines.  I serve as a liaison with the Law college, consulting with teaching faculty and students in this unit about their specific information and research needs, I taught Law students and faculty the use of both print and electronic resources that would meet their research and information needs. I serve, in addition to the Law College, as a subject librarian for the Alumni Affairs and Student Affairs. During this year, I hold multiple projects such as a reading competition, a volunteer program, and new students’ orientation. I also have a goal to educate the public and assist those in need by making use of a diverse collection of available resources. Finally, UAEU Libraries will continue to support the learning, teaching, and research needs of the University community. The event took place on 5th of June in Dubai.  We had the pleasure collaborating with publishing partners and with the College of Science our engineering students did an excellent job raising the profile of UAEU. The KnE team in collaboration with Elsevier and Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) had the pleasure of hosting the UAE Engineering Challenge award ceremony, which honored the participants and winners of the unique competition.   The competition challenged engineering faculties’ students across UAE to solve multiciliary, real-life cases that are raised by companies around the world. Qualified teams were given access to Elsevier and The IET’s online resources - including Knovel, Inspec and Inspec analytics - to help them build their case studies. The top four winning teams presented their work during the ceremony. Students, faculty members and all library users can reserve a room in the library for study, meeting or event purposes. UAEU Library has several rooms such as Ibrahim Al Abed room and Al Bustan. You can reserve the room through the online form on the library webpage.     4                                                                                                Issue 7, JULY 2022 Employee Highlight  Name: Shrieen Mohammad Wolieed. I was born in a place call Nawalapitiya in Sri Lanka. A country known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. I have completed my education Sulaymaniyah Muslim College. I joined University of Colombo 1973-1977 to complete my degree. 1994-2014 UAEU Libraries Deanship. Shelved one third of books in the library both DEWY (Decimal Classification DDC) and Library of Congress Classification LLC) Assisted students in locating books supervised student, and trained them to how to file the books according to the call numbers. Provide instruction to patrons by explaining and demonstrating the proper use of equipment, library automation system and online resources. I have worked difference areas in the Library with Different works. Libraries Classification and Acquisition Department worked year 2001 – 2006. I worked with UN Documents by providing online links to the libraries home page. Number of completed documents is 27 thousand. Also, I worked as a circulation assistant effect from 2010-2014. It is the function of lending library materials (books, serials, sound recordings, moving images, cartographic materials, etc. that are owned by a library) to the users of the library. Present Job: Effect from 2015: Working as a digitization Technician My present duties include scanning and uploading the UAEU Thesis and dissertations to the UAEU scholar works. Also, 3D printing and Helping the UAEU Determination students to scan their books and material. with many Libraries events. I have received the Chancellors award for institutional Excellence with the Library team in 2018.
