RESUMO: Este artigo tem como finalidade, apresentar uma análise da Língua brasileira de sinais, pelo viés estruturalista saussuriano. Este é o recorte do nosso estudo e pesquisa para o seminário Teorias e Concepções de Linguagem em que o tema da nossa palestra foi “Como o estruturalismo concebe a questão do sentido” por nós apresentado no curso de doutorado em Estudos de Linguagens da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. Selecionamos importantes elementos da Libras para analisar, à luz dos conceitos de diacronia e sincronia, propostas por Saussure e ainda, visualizar concretamente através da Libras a conceituação de eixo sintagmático e eixo associativo ou paradigmático. Esperamos com isso/esta análise, contribuir para a categorização gramatical da Libras, fortalecendo assim, sua concepção como língua e estrutura, bem como orientar os usuários dessa língua para uma leitura linear com possibilidades de produção de sentido. Como resultado desse trabalho, apontamos a percepção de similaridade e verossimilhança dos fenômenos e elementos das demais línguas em relação a Libras. Julgamos que tal fato atribui ao mesmo tempo o caráter de sistema linguístico.DIACRONY AND SYNCHRONY: STRUCTURAL AND MEANING ISSUES IN LIBRAS ABSTRACT: this article aims to present an analysis of the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), by the saussurian structuralist bias. This is the snippet of our study and research for the seminar theories and conceptions of language in which the theme of our talk was "How structuralism conceives the issue of meaning" presented by us in the PhD course in Estudos de Linguagens (Language Studies) of the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT). We select important elements of Libras to analyze in light of the concepts of diachrony and synchrony proposed by Saussure and also, to visualize concretely through Libras the concept of syntagmatic axis and associative or paradigmatic axis. We hope, therefore, to contribute to the grammatical categorization of Libras, thus strengthening its conception as language and structure, as well as to guide the users of this language a linear reading with the possibility of production of meaning. As a result of this work, we point out the perception of similarity and verisimilitude of the phenomena and elements of the other languages in relation to Libras. We believe that this attributes, at the same time, the character of the linguistic system.
