This study was conducted in the sheep farm Beibockhet area /Mosul, Iraq, on 15 head of Awassi ewes, from lambing up to an average weight of 36.5 kg. Ewes were randomly divided into three groups (5 ewes/group) as follows: 1st group control, 2nd group received fatty acids EPA, DHA in doses of 360 mg/ewe, 240 mg/ewe administered as oral capsules, 3rd group received fatty acids EPA, DHA in doses of 720 mg/ewe, 480 mg/ewe administered as oral capsules. The treatment were daily administered for 2 months. The results revealed an improvement in blood picture in 1st and 2nd groups, which means that significant increase in RBC count, Hb concentration, PCV% and WBC count was reported as compared with control group. Also, a significant increase was recorded in BW, WG and DG in treated groups as compared with control. On the other hand, the administration of polyunsaturated fatty acids (EPA) and (DHA) caused a significant increase in daily milk yield and a significant decrease in milk fat % and serum cholesterol levels as compared with control.
